QUALITY PROTEIN
We use USDA chicken as our most plentiful ingredient because it is a delicious, digestible protein source. As required by the USDA, our chicken is free of added growth hormones and steroids.

DIGESTIVE HEALTH
As dogs age they need extra amounts of soluble fiber to help maintain normal gastrointestinal transit time and motility. We use oatmeal, ground barley, rice bran and ground brown rice because they are easily digestible and packed with vitamins and minerals. Older dogs may have higher numbers of unfavorable bacteria and lower numbers of beneficial bacteria in their intestines so our additional active cultures help to keep an optimum balance.

HIP & JOINT SUPPORT
We add extra natural Glucosamine HCL and Chondroitin Sulfate from New Zealand Green Mussel and Sea Cucumber. Research suggests that both nutrients help maintain cartilage in aging joints. 

HEALTHY SKIN & COAT
Our special blend of omega fatty acids comes from flaxseed, canola oil and whitefish. Omega 6 and Omega 3 play a vital role in supporting healthy skin and a glossy full coat. 

ANTIOXIDANT SUPPORT

GREAT TASTE WITH REDUCED FAT
As dogs age their energy requirements go down because they become less mobile and because they have less lean muscle mass. They require less fat and fewer calories so they do not become overweight. However, since many older dogs have diminished sensory abilities, the food should still be highly palatable.

KIDNEY FUNCTION
As dogs age they cannot effectively filter the waste products from their blood stream as they could when they were younger. We reduced the amounts of phosphorus levels to lessen the strain on kidneys.
